Saint Leo the Great Panel #12637
This stained glass window features Saint Leo. Saint Leo the great was born in Tuscan. While deacon, he was sent to Gaul to act as the mediator for Emperor Valentinian the Third. He became pope. Over time, Leo the Great persuaded the emperor to recognize the primacy of the bishop of Rome. There's a famous encounter when Atilla the Hun was ransacking Europe and attacked Rome. Saint Leo rode out to the gates of Rome and spoke with Atilla, persuading him to turn back. The feat day of Saint Leo the Great is November the 10th. This window is shown with an inscription that has the French spelling of Saint Leo: Saint Leon, but it is available in any language.
A religious window like this would make a good addition to a house of worship or a hospital chapel.
