In the parable of the talents the Owner gave different talents to his servants before he went away on a journey. On his return he called them to account and show what profit they had made with their talents. In the parable of the ten virgins, five were prepared and waiting for the bridegroom to arrive while five were unprepared and were excluded from the wedding feast. These scenes are beautifully captured in the center of these two elaborately decorative arched panels.
