Indigenous Christians of Coromoto Panel #13763
The Cospes Coromoto, the indigenous peoples in Venezuela, are magnificently pictured in earth hues in this stained glass panel. Their story of conversion brings much inspiration. According to oral tradition, the Cospes were called upon by the Blessed Virgin Mary to convert to Christianity. Mary is said to have appeared to the ruler of the Cospes Coromoto to ask him to be baptized and left a miraculous mark made of wood fibers. The ruler then did what he was told and even influenced other Indian tribes to become Christians. Such a remarkable apparition was recognized by the Church and the Blessed Virgin was given the title, Our Lady of Coromoto. Honor this Marian apparition by having this stained glass artwork as a feature in a church or prayer room. A dazzling blue and gold frame accentuate this piece.
